It’s hard to believe we are already turning the page on another milestone in this season of good cheer. It’s Christmas Eve and just past our 3-month anniversary here at Women Overboard. How time flies at this point in our lives.
We have had a lot to talk about over these months, and are grateful that you have joined in the conversation. The blog started as a way for two writers who have known each other for 20 years to get to the heart of, well, our hearts in the uncharted territory of midlife. As we tossed around ideas, we wondered if other folks feel like we do and if there was a place for such a project. Your notes, comments and insights tell us we were on the right track. Thank you for your unequivocal support!
We’ve had an incredible 2,434 views since Oct. 18. We have posted about almost every topic imaginable. The search engines have finally found us, although who knew smiley faces had such global appeal?
Reaching the forties and fifties is a little like jumping off a cliff into the unknown. Everything seems like a first, whether it is a physical change or an illuminating emotional insight. It’s freeing to realize that being open to the possibilities means the options are endless.
We imagine that you are as exhausted as we are from the year-end whirl. Mindy will be traveling and Michele is getting ready for Santa and then vacation week with kids. So it’s a good time to slow down a little, say Merry, Merry Christmas to you, and take a beat for a few days. We’ll recharge our batteries and be back sometime next week. See you then!
